Charles BLACKMAN O.B.E. (b.1928; d.2018)
Limited Edition Print A/P 125
Dreaming Alice (1956)
Frame Size 118cm X 90cm
Blackman is considered one of the most important figurative painters in Australia. Spanning painting, drawing, sculpture and tapestry, Blackman’s artistic practice invites us into worlds where anything is possible. Blackman is best known for his Schoolgirl and Alice series and his haunting images of sad girls and women, often absorbed in daydreams, oblivious to reality or detached from their surroundings. He crafted a unique artistic vision exploring the dualities of the human condition: innocence and experience, fantasy and fact, dreams and nightmares, beauty and savagery.

Bruce EARLES
Original
Loopy (2011)
Frame Size 102cm X 93cm
SOLD
Melbourne based artist Bruce Earles was born in 1953.
Embracing the joyfulness of life, the artist evokes a playful yet astute vision of the urban environment where landscape and culture mingle and merge. The visual impact of his work is striking through his use of colour and light in his ongoing celebration of life. As the artist is uplifted by the sheer joy of living, so too are his images: people raise their arms, birds swoop in arches, trees raise their branches to the sky, and dogs wag their tails. Even inanimate objects seem to take on a joyful life of their own. The brilliant hues of his more recent paintings speak of Earles’ continuing exploration of the interplay between paint and canvas.
Auguste Blackman (b.1957)
Original
Friendship (2008)
Frame Size 71.5cm X 102cm
SOLD
Auguste Blackman was born in 1957, the eldest son of artist Charles Blackman and his writer wife Barbara.
He recognised that to emerge from his father’s giant shadow, he had to reinvent himself, learn the basic elements as a foundation to a career, and be judged on his own merits. And so, Auguste gave up substance abuse and studied Fine Art at West Wollongong TAFE, including an extra year of Ceramics.
“My father cast a giant shadow and was a master shadow maker,” Auguste says. “Now I will stand alongside him and cast my own shadow.”

David James Rellim (b.1986)
Original
Wandering Nomad (2011)
Frame Size 120cm X 120cm
Self-taught Australian artist David Rellim was born in Melbourne in 1986, the youngest of four children. Early personal challenges paved the way for Rellim’s deeply emotional journey through life and his art. His passion for art was ignited at the age of 16 when he first opened a book about Brett Whiteley. Rellim counts his major influences as Brett Whiteley, Van Gogh, Picasso, Francis Bacon, and Robert Prudhoe or (Boinga Bob) with whom Rellim lived for 6 months in his world famous tree-house temple.
“I have also learnt a lot through living with Ben Howe in an artist's warehouse in Brunswick and from Sally Madden, David Milne, Steve Nova, Robin Stewart and other artists located at Swan Street studios where I paint these days. Just being in a creative environment is highly inspiring,” says Rellim.

Simmons found inspiration for his drawings and paintings in the surrounding landscape of his native northern Victoria. At the core of Simmons’ landscape painting are two fundamentals; the first emanates from the quality of his vision, the second from the harmonious relationship between his artistic responsiveness and the artist’s technical expertise. Simmons removes the outer facade of appearance and draws us in to the spiritual essence of the landscape.

John Henry OLSEN O.B.E., A.O. (b.1928)
Limited Edition Print 125/250
Five Bells (1963)
Frame Size 106cm X 106cm
SOLD
Olsen is one of the most senior, respected Australian artists. He is greatly influenced and inspired by the Australian landscape. His work shows none of the European concern for scale. Rather, his loosely brushed canvases have no distinguishable fore, middle or background, and they are bought alive with light-filled, scrawly images that at the same time manage to give both a bird’s eye and snake’s eye view. The series Journey into the you beaut country, created after his return to Sydney in the early 1960s, is among his greatest poetical visions of place. Olsen said: “I wanted to really come to terms with the experience of a total landscape. Not like there is the foreground, there is the middle distance and there is the horizon. I wanted that overall feeling of travelling over the landscape. There you can see the dry creek beds, the nervous system… Then you begin to somehow see the wholeness, the essential untidiness.”
